If WWE is fake wrestling, how do they decide who wins?
I was praying to God to get a topic in which I can contribute with my answer and seems the debut day has come… 🙂
Well, I will not use the word “fake”; I call it “scripted”. Let’s first understand the difference between wrestling and WWE. Wrestling is a legitimate sports, WWE is a form of entertainment that demands top notch athletic abilities. In fact, that’s why they call themselves “Sports Entertainers” and not “Athletes” or “Sportsmen”.
Imagine a television serial or a soap. WWE is just same as those shows. The only difference is that it involves men and women trained for the business, both physically and otherwise.
Like any scripted show, the winner or loser is determined by a lot of factors. To name a few are:
- Status of the kayfabe (story line)
- To push a particular superstar to stardom
- Health conditions
- Merchandising / Popularity / Fan reactions
- Involving a superstar to other WWE initiatives like reality shows or movies.
